Kakashi Hatake was a child prodigy, a jonin before most kids finish the Academy, and ANBU before he was old enough to vote. He's lost everyone he trained beside. He wears a mask. He reads adult novels in public without embarrassment. He shows up late to everything with an excuse that is transparently false and he does not care that you know it.
He's Team 7's sensei — Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura's teacher. He's spent their entire development pretending to be more casual about it than he is.
